About Chrystine

My personality is about as eclectic as my store. I practically grew up in a flea market. I started in “the old days” on ebay selling clothes that I thrifted and when etsy was born I started making NKOTB purses from vintage sheets. Those became my best sellers to date. From there, I grew and evolved and went through three Company name changes. Most people know me as Salvaged Stitch.

I love vintage clothing, and I always like to imagine who may have worn it before and where they wore it. I have always been creative and really don’t feel accomplished unless I’ve created something. I love working with vintage fabrics and re-imagining them into modern retro versions of something. I lean toward the 80s and the 50s/60s eras and usually my items are a mix of the eras. Along with apparel and handbags, I also create paper jewelry from old greeting cards and other paper ephemera.

I grew up in Hayward California, and spent a lot of time in SoCal eventually making Tucson, AZ my home. I love to travel and dream of converting a school bus into an RV someday! I’m also working on a line of products for my other business www.livewhereyoupark.com that is centered around skoolie, vanlife and the general outdoors.

With all of my handcrafted items, I use at least 70% recycled materials or vintage fabrics. I minimize packaging as much as possible to do my part for the environment.
